Kia Ora, Talofa Lava, Kia Orana, Malo e lelei and warm greetings to you all.
My name is Adam Tamariki and I am very proud to be serving as the Principal of Te Paina School. We are an amazing Year 1-8 rural school situated in the heart of the Mercer community. We have a fantastic team who are passionate about our tamariki and making learning fun and engaging. Our akonga are actively engaged in their learning journey. We encourage our students to explore, discover and lead their learning through hands on experiences and a range of learning opportunities. Please come and visit us at Te Paina. We would very much love to have you be a part of our learning community here at Te Paina School.

Homework books will be coming home from tomorrow for students to 'revise' work they have started in class. I say 'revise' as the idea of the work is that it will never be something new, they should be able to do it independently. Repetition is the best way of learning fast!
At a minimum all Tuatoru students should be completing 30 minutes reading per day. Anything other than that is optional.
I have added an image of the plan students have drawn at the back of their books last week. They will use this to document how much time they have allocated to each task. This is a self led task, they must note down how long they have spent themselves. After school activities can also be added, such as any sports or events they go to, as that is all part of learning.
We will meet every morning and students will share what they completed.
Ngaa mihi

School lunches did not arrive for our tamariki today, leaving us with no option but to order in pizza. Thank you to our wonderful parents for their patience after school.
In anticipation should there be any issues tomorrow with school lunches distribution, can we ask for tamariki to bring a little extra kai in their lunchboxes just in case.
Ngaa mihi
